At this time, I have chosen not to accept insurance. When psychologists work with insurance companies, the insurance company requires that I release confidential information about you and that you have a diagnosis on file. Many people want to seek therapy for their child or themself but may not qualify for a specific diagnosis, or insurance may disagree about your need for treatment or the length of your treatment. By not taking insurance, decisions about your health and the length of your services or your child’s services remain between you and me, and any other professional involved in your care. We will work together to determine the best service options for you and how long those services need to continue for.
Additionally, working with insurance is costly to psychologists. Psychologists who take insurance generally take more clients than those who do not in order to meet the costs of running a practice. Working with insurance is also time-consuming and psychologists do not get paid for this time. This leads to needing even more clients to ensure that the practice can meet financial obligations, and can create a frustrating cycle for both client and psychologist in which psychologists are over-worked and client’s do not get the individual time and attention that they need. My goal is to ensure that each of my client’s receives the best services possible at the lowest cost, and eliminating a complex, time-consuming, and often unpredictable health system from these services helps me to be able to do that.
You can choose to bill your own insurance through the out-of-network benefits, although I cannot guarantee coverage. After each counseling session, or at the end of an assessment, I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance.

Yes! This is a great option to pay for mental health services and you are welcome to use this.

Counseling services are $130 per hour. The cost of these services is due 24 hours before your session and you can pay by logging into your online portal here.
I can also attend your child’s case conference (please include me in the scheduling) for my regular session fee of $130.
Fees for evaluations are a bit more complicated. The evaluation measures are chosen mainly based upon your child’s age, language level, and clinical questions. Also included in the time for evaluations is time for an intake, feedback, scoring your child’s measures, and for me to write a detailed report for you to share with others.
Here’s how the average Autism assessment breaks down:
Intake - 1.5 hours
Assessment time with your child - Between 3 and 8 hours
Scoring your child’s measures - 1 to 3 hours
Feedback - 1 to 2 hours
Report writing - 3 to 6 hours
This means that a typical assessment can take anywhere from 10 to 20 hours. Unfortunately, it is difficult for me to know where within this range your child will fall, making it difficult for me to give you an estimate of your child’s cost. When charging hourly, this also puts pressure on everyone involved (me, your child, you) to use as little time as necessary to keep costs down, which can impact your child’s care. For example, if a child is uncooperative during testing, a parent may become frustrated with the child as the testing will take longer, or a psychologist may be reluctant to add a measure because it will increase cost.
As a result of these concerns, I have chosen to use a flat-rate model for evaluations and assessment. This means that I can tell you exactly what your child’s assessment services will cost before we start the evaluation. To help families, I have split these costs into parts.
All evaluation intakes are $200. At the end of the intake, I will share my recommendations about evaluation for your child and what the evaluation fee will be. This lets you make an informed choice about services for your child with all of the necessary information.
Comprehensive Evaluation services are priced as listed below. Included in the evaluation services is the psychological assessment completed with your child, my time to interpret these results and write a detailed report, a feedback session with you, a feedback session directly with your child if you and I decide they would benefit from this, and a one-hour consultation a month later to see how your child is doing and to ensure that you do not have questions about the report or recommendations.
Early Childhood Autism Assessment (2 - 6 years old) - $2,000
Child to Adolescent Autism Assessment (7 - 15 years old) - $2,500
Older Adolescent/ Young Adult Autism Assessment (16 years or older)- $3,000
Cognitive and Learning Assessment (5 - 25 years old)- $2,000. This includes referral concerns such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Intellectual Developmental Disorder, Twice-exceptional Gifted Students
Gifted and Talented Assessment for School or Program Admission (3-17 years old)- $1,500
Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)- $2500 - $3000 depending on complexity of case and measures needed.
Half of the assessment fee will be due 24 hours prior to your child’s first evaluation appointment and the other half will be due 24 hours before the feedback appointment. Unfortunately, you will not be able to receive your child’s report until these fees have been paid in full.

Counseling clients: Once you are established on my schedule, it is important that you or your child attend sessions regularly as this helps to ensure that your child is making good progress. If you need to reschedule your child’s appointment, you can do so without any cost to you up until 24 hours before the appointment. If you do not cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advanced, I will charge a $50 fee for the missed appointment. If your family misses three or more appointments in a year without letting me know 24 hours in advance, I will refer you to other services in order to be able to effectively serve as many children as possible.
I also understand that life happens. I have children at my house who get sick, I get sick, and there are car problems, family emergencies, and unexpected circumstances. For this reason, each family in the counseling program gets one “life happens” pass per year. When children get sick or family emergencies come up, I want you to be able to attend to those without worrying about the financial cost of missing counseling.
As a reminder, parent sessions can almost always be switched to telehealth if this would prevent you from missing the session (e.g., child was sent home from school sick and you are now home caring for them, car trouble), and this can be done up until your appointment time by texting my office phone.
Evaluation clients: It is extremely important that your child come to their assessment appointment. These appointments take up large blocks of my schedule and having clients miss these frequently has a huge impact on the financial security of my practice. As a result, there will be a $100 fee if the intake or feedback appointments are missed. If your child misses an evaluation appointment, there will be a $200 fee. Schedule changes can be made up to 48 hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid these costs.
Even for major commitments, I recognize that life happens. Please let me know if there are extenuating circumstances (e.g., child wakes up sick, major family emergency) so that we can talk about the best option to reschedule.
All clients: If your child or anyone in your immediate family that your child lives with daily has a positive COVID-19 test or is quarantined for COVID-19, we will need to reschedule any in-person services. Parent appointments can continue as telehealth provided you are feeling well enough to attend. Please let me know as soon as possible and provide proof of positive test to reschedule without any cost to you. Similarly, please contact me as soon as possible if your child or anyone in your immediate family tests positive for flu or strep throat so that we can reschedule.
